Personally, when I am writing about a subject that I am familiar and experienced with, thoughts tend to flow smoothly. However, writing on a topic which needs research to be done ( like this blog), I follow the guideline of structuring the blog first into the Introduction, three sections in the main body and the conclusion. Following this approach helps me focus better on what to include in that particular section. Hope this helps.
